Nearly 30 workshops will be accessible from July 1 to September 19, 2024 and will allow you to enjoy the excitement of the festival and the Arlesian summer.
The summer 2024 workshops program will be online at the beginning of March.
OPENING WEEK:
01 – 07 JULY 2024
Participants in this exciting, hands-on, two-day course will take stock of their work, consider fresh approaches and think about how to arrange what they want to show. They will work with Sylvie Hugues on editing past, present or unfinished projects.

This day and a half will mostly focus on two key concepts in photography: distance and time.

This day and a half with Vee Speers will focus on the portrait. The sessions will cover the basics — lighting, distance and the exchange with the model — but also leave room for emotion, and sometimes for instinct and the viewer’s interaction with the portrait.

The quest will gradually become more personal and inward-looking in these repetitive alternations, contrasts and different atmospheres. Participants will be asked to dig deep down within themselves and find a common denominator based on their sensations and feelings in order to connect everyday experiences to one another, working on what characterizes their gaze, accompanying the sensibility that dictates distances, obsessions and detours.

The challenge of these five days will be to develop a photographic writing that is specific to us and to question through a personal realization the link to the body and to space, in substance and in form.

This workshop aims to help participants create a coherent body of work with the help of Julien Pebrel’s wise advice. They will focus on a specific space to make a portrait. Each will choose, depending on his or her wishes, past experiences and a place to explore: a district, a street, a quay, a monument, a stadium, a building, a park, a wasteland… the playground will have very diverse aspects.

Five days alongside Kourtney Roy which will allow each participant to build a personal, coherent vision of the world around us, freeing themselves as soon as possible from the brakes and preconceived ideas which can hinder the creative process specific to each person.
