Sixth Annual SoCo Clicks Photo Competition – 2026

SUBMISSION INTAKE: 

• March 1, 2025 – March 27, 2026 ​

CATEGORIES: 

1. Portrait: Family, self-portrait, fashion / beauty. Images of people.  
2. Documentary: Images that address cultural, political, or social issues affecting individuals or society.    
3. The Natural World: Nature and Landscape. Images of the outdoors. 
4. The Still World: Still life, architecture, abstract, and interior.  Images of static subjects.
5. Abstract: Images that prioritize visual elements and emphasize shape, color, pattern, texture, or motion over subject matter. *No AI-generated images.
6. Alternative (Traditional /Digital)  Images created through:
   1. Traditional or alternative photographic processes. 
   2. Digitally constructed images, or digitally composited work.

Students are encouraged to work with their teachers to determine which category best suits their work. For example, if a student focuses on street photography, it would be up to them to decide if the work best fit in the category of Portrait, Documentary, or the Still World.

NUMBER OF ENTRIES:   

• Each applicant can submit a total of 3 images. Only one image is permitted per category. 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

• Open to all current or previously enrolled students attending schools within Sonoma County, within the last two years. 
• Work must have been produced within the last two years (Spring 2024). 
• The show welcomes work in color, black & white, analog (film), digital, collage, drone, and alternative processes. 
• Images with AI-generated main subjects will not be accepted. Secondary AI features such as Fill, Selections, Refinements, and Lens Blur will be allowed. Digital negatives may be used for traditional or alternative photographic processes.
• It is the participant’s responsibility to confirm that each person depicted in the photograph has granted permission to be portrayed as shown – and has the right to grant that permission. 

All entries will be reviewed and judged by a jury of photography professionals.
Qualifying entries will be exhibited online at SoCoClicks.org beginning in late spring of 2026.
Category winners will be exhibited at the Museum of Sonoma County, in Santa Rosa, late summer/autumn 2026.

​PHOTO SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• Formatting Images: Image File Size: Minimum 1MB/Maximum 5 MB.
• Image File Format: JPEG (JPG)
• ​Make sure to keep a high resolution “Original” image prior to submitting

FILE NAMING
SAVE your image as a JPG.  The name of the file should be the title of the image.
For instance, an image titled Reflections, it would be saved as Reflections.jpg.
