February 2025, No. 170 Carolyn Drake & Andres Gonzalez, Alessandra Sanguinetti, Zied Ben Romdhane |
The new photobook by Carolyn Drake and Andres Gonzalez, I’ll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours, explores the complexities of migration, identity, and human connection at the U.S.–Mexico border. By blending their perspectives, they challenge prevailing narratives about the border as a place of division. |

As an exhibition of Alessandra Sanguinetti’s The Adventures of Guille and Belinda opens at the Kunsthal Rotterdamnext week, we revisit and interview with the photographer as she reflects on the fluid territory between adolescence and adulthood. |

This week we revisit Zied Ben Romdhane’s World Press Photo-winning series The Escape, and how he used his lens to capture a general feeling of malaise among the youth of Tunisia. “The photos convey a dreamlike or parallel Tunisia,” he writes. |

Starting Monday in New York City, Carolyn Drake will be leading a five-day workshop on how to break out of your comfort zone in photography, by identifying and experimenting with approaches that you are curious about. Only a few spots remain. |
